I want to add some skills to my resume that I am not an expert in yet but would like to learn. How can I do this without lying or looking like I am not qualified?
One way to list skills on your resume that you are not an expert in yet is to include them under a section titled “Skills to Develop” or something similar. This way, you can highlight the skills you are interested in developing without giving the impression that you are already an expert in them. If you have any relevant experience with the skill (even if it is just from a personal project), you can mention that as well. For example:
Skills to Develop:
-Web Development: Have created a few simple websites for personal projects but am interested in learning more about web development in order to create more complex websites.
-Graphic Design: Have some experience with Photoshop and Illustrator but would like to develop my skills further in order to create more professional-looking designs.
